The UAW is Anti-Union!

The UAW fails to recognize the union of its own employees. In a comical turn of events, the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) earlier this week has filed an unfair labor practice charge AGAINST the UAW for failure to recognize the union formed by the employees that staff their home office. Of course they have redacted the facts, but the claims are that the UAW failed to recognize their union and failed to negotiate in good faith/direct dealing. (Direct dealing means they went straight to the employees in an effort to circumvent the union.) You can’t make this up!
So, to be clear the Union attempting to unionize Mercedes is failing to recognize the union formed by its OWN employees? How does a union deal so unfairly with its own employees that their employees have to form a union to “have a voice”? Then when the UAW employees form their own union, the UAW that could not convince its own employees not to form a union, fails to recognize their union once it is formed.? To make matters worse they try to deal directly with its employees and ignore their union?
This should tell you everything you need to know about how completely corrupt the UAW leadership is. They ramble on and on about “protecting the workers” and making sure their members “get their fair share”, then turn right around and ignore their own employees! Of course, this should not surprise anyone remotely familiar with how deeply the corruption runs within the UAW. If I was going to form a union against my employer, I wouldn’t pick a union that is “anti-union”.
