What has the UAW Been Up to Since MBUSI Workers Rejected Them?
April 28, 2025

The UAW is back at it with another attempt to siphon dues dollars out of our paychecks. It’s been almost a year since we sent them packing, so here’s a quick update as to what the union’s been up to since we rejected them:
- The UAW’s members at the Big Three have experienced tens of thousands of layoffs. Since signing the 2023 “record contracts” with Detroit’s Big Three, UAW members at those plants have experienced over 40,000 temporary or permanent layoffs. This includes layoffs on a massive scale at plants like Warren Truck, where two thirds of the union workforce is currently off the job.
- The UAW’s court-appointed corruption monitor announced a new investigation into the union after allegations that the UAW President’s office engaged in financial misconduct and retaliated against other UAW officers emerged. The union even attempted to withhold documents requested by the monitor for his investigation into these claims. The union was sued for this in court and eventually ordered by a judge to turn over the documents.
- UAW Members at Stellantis saw their profit-sharing checks decline by almost 75% in 2024. The 2023 contract with Stellantis increased labor costs, which tanked Stellantis’ profits.
- Autoworkers at Volkswagen who voted to join the UAW last year are now facing a shift cut and buyouts.
- The UAW has failed to unionize a single automaker since we sent them packing.
Sounds like we made the right decision last spring.
